SCAM ALERT!!!! (update Monday, April 9, 2008 10:28 PM Central Time)
It has come to our attention that scammers are falsely claiming to represent FSBBA with a contest that obviously you have not entered. It appears that the scam is to collect personal information about you including social security number.
If you have received a communication from them, please report the fraud directly to your state Attorney General's office, FBI or Canadian RCMP and encourage prosecution. We have reported the fraud to the FBI. Please send a copy of the documentation that you received to:
Federal Bureau of Investigation
Attn: CR4
2500 East TC Jester Blvd.
Houston, TX 77008
Please fax a copy of material you received to the FBI at 713-693-3999
We have contacted the company referenced on the check and verified that it is a fraudulent check and will not be paid.
100 Airport Road indicated on the material is not a real address.
The area code indicated as a New Foundland area code is actually registered to a New Westminster British Columbia cell phone, but cell numbers can be redirected to anywhere in the world.
Please do not send them any personal information or money!!
This is a scam and not the responsibility of FSBBA.
